Castello di Gallico, Asciano

The castle of Galico is not actually a fortress but a fortified farm (grancia) which was used to store grain and produce against incursions of thieves or warbands. The castle has been renovated several years ago, but it is private property, therefore not possible to visit. The road to reach it is a strada bianca with a beautiful scenery, but mind the state of the road and the presence of sheepdogs which may attack if you get too close to the flocks grazing in the fields on the side of the road.

This is private and permanently closed, I've been told from a local. Additionally, you can't reach it with a common car, you need a tall 4x4 to get near to it because the roads are wild.
