An interesting experience. The museum was born when the mining activity was closed in 1976. In this mine was extracted the “Cinabro” mineral (HgS), processed and refined to obtain Mercury. This was the second largest and more productive mine of this mineral in the world after Almadèn in Spain. The museum offers a reconstruction of the mining life with a tour inside the galleries by train, a multimedia experience and an exhibition. The most valuable part of the visit, in my opinion, is the description of the life of the workers and the health problems related to the mining activity. The exhibitions and the guided tour are in Italian.

Nice museum with interesting interactive exhibition but unfortunately they dont have english guide. There are some panels translated to english and we found nice italians that translated it for us but it may be a problem...
