Take time to visit the beautifully constructed Széchenyi Thermal Bath, the largest medicinal bath in Europe. The thermal water flowing at this spa comes from two springs and contains natural healing elements that are said to help lessen inflammation, joint illnesses, and other medical problems. Stunning Neo-Baroque buildings built in 1913 surround the outdoor pools, which are filled with steaming hot water. Watch locals playing chess, step into the indoor pools, take a seat in the saunas and steam rooms, or schedule a massage for the full spa experience. Make Széchenyi Thermal Bath a centerpiece of your Budapest vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Budapest driving holiday site.

If you had one activity to do in Budapest, you must visit a thermal bath in Budapest. This one is particular is well known for its spectacular architecture and feel. While the staff is quite rude...

Couldn’t buy the package we wanted even though we tried booking ahead. The lockers were wholly out of order / the changing rooms were good and very clean but this is where the cleanliness stopped...

Lovely place, pools indoors and outdoors are nice temperatures. Remember to bring flip flops with you for walking around in especially indoors. The cafe area is decent, had a lovely beef stew there. Would also recommend getting a cabin to get changed in though. Its great you can be there all day to 8pm too with the one entrance fee. Definitely worth a visit.

The most beautiful thermal baths in Europe? I am inclined to say yes, exactly. A very nice solution is that the tickets are all-day. It doesn't matter how long you stay at the thermal baths, you pay one price. All pools open, inside and out clean. We bought tickets with private cabins - I recommend choosing this option. We then have a private changing room that is electrically locked. The thermal baths are beautifully situated in a park, around a lot of monuments and restaurants. In the vicinity of the zoo, close to the metro and easy access to the Danube. A cap is required only in the sports track at the swimming pool.
