Gare de Strasbourg, Strasbourg

Very pretty city center. Gastronomy is a must, you'll see quite a few incredible restaurants. The cathedral is a must see, "la petite france" district is beautiful just to walk through with awesome sights. You can visit Strasbourg by boat (expensive but very nice experience). I strongly recommend!

My first impression of the main railway station was really scary. There were too many people just hanging around and trying to beg or worse. The ticket vending machines are complicated for a tourist. I tried and tried several times, but didn't manage and didn't dare to show my credit card at this station either. Fortunately I found a public transport office in the citycentre, where it was possible to use no contact machines safely.
