Musee National de l’Automobile – Collection Schlumpf
Calling all car enthusiasts! Musee National de l’Automobile – Collection Schlumpf is the largest museum of automobiles in the world with 500 vehicles, including 464 cars from 98 different makers. This one-of-a-kind museum also boasts the famous Fritz Schlumf collection, which dates from 1878 to the present day, as well as the largest collection of Bugattis in the world. The museum itself is located in an old 1880s mill. Founded by two Swiss-born brothers, Fritz and Hans Schlumpf, the collection gained its first acquisition back in the early 1940s during the second World War. The brothers continued to build their collection over the years, and it wasn’t until 1977 that the public became aware of the collection. Not only is it the largest collection of automobiles, but it has been described as the most prestigious collection. It is definitely worth a visit! It is in the very positive sense crowded with cars which have been milestones in our mobile world. A remarkable collection. If you are not finding the time to visit, think about changing your priorities. The tour in the museum is around two hours in an impressive architectural building...

Absolutely unbelievable vintage auto museum. If you are a car guy, this place is a must see and must visit for sure. The amount of automotive history here is hard to appreciate. The most amazing thing is that most of not all of the cars are still running. You can see oil leaks and lubrication on chassis etc. The amount of history in this place is very difficult to absorb. I spent hours walking between cars and reading the stories about models and cars. Must see, must spend a day here!
