The striking architecture of Centre Pompidou-Metz accentuates the beauty of the modern and contemporary artwork housed inside. The museum is a branch of the popular Centre Pompidou in Paris, and is one of the most visited cultural venues in France. The museum building’s hexagonal shape is one of its distinct features. Its roof is composed of laminated timber that intersects to form hexagonal wooden units, resembling the cane-work pattern of a Chinese hat. Three large galleries host exhibits. Most of these are from the collection of the National Museum of Modern Art, which is the largest European collection of modern and contemporary art. The museum also includes a terrace restaurant with interiors inspired by a kaleidoscope, and a well-designed garden. The most interesting thing in the Pompidou-Metz center is the roof. The Chinese woven hat is taken as a basis. We would have seen its wooden hexagons if the structure had not been covered with a...

One of the best modern museums I have crossed in my life. The collections that we saw were sooo well displayed and so interesting. Spent hours there and enjoyed every minute. Keep it up for whoever is managing the place and choosing the art.
The museum’s design is amazing. But the quality of exhibited art works is not that impressive. It could have been somewhat educational if it was free, but it’s not. So you might like it if you’re REALLY into modern art, but otherwise don’t bother. P.S.: Added photos of the only few examples which seemed interesting.
