  • This was a personal pilgrimage for me and such a special moment. This is truly a magical place. I cannot recommend it enough. The fact that you can actually go in the house where Joan d’Arc was born, sit in the garden and image how it was over 500 years ago? This is an incredible experience. They have also made a museum at the back full of information written in French & English and the whole thing is only €4. The people are so lovely and helpful too. Please be aware it is closed on Tuesdays. You can also go in the church just next door where Joan was baptised dating back to 1412. I am not sure of the opening times of the church. Souvenir shop and restaurant across the road in the village. All a truly wonderful experience and I am looking forward to when I can visit again. Thank you so much.
  • Quite a moving experience to visit the birthplace of the Patron Saint of France in the village of Domremy-la-Pucelle on the banks of the River Meuse. Canonized in 1920 centuries after her death, Joan's early years were spent as shepherdess of her father's sheep flocks and lived in the now renovated family home which draws many pilgrims to this day. She worshipped in the nearby Church of Saint-Remy which retains original features from her lifetime including a 13th century tower and baptismal font. This whole place exudes an extraordinary peace mingled with a tangible sense of joy being the site of happy childhood years in the life of "La Pucelle d'Orleans"!
