Le Centre Johannique, Domremy-la-Pucelle

Fascinating place. I only took one star away because I feel it was out of place to have references from game of thrones or pop musician like Madonna. Also there a section there saying St Jeanne D'arc was antiestablisment nothing could be further from the truth, La Pucelle accepted authority, but insisted God must be served first in her own words. Museum does mention that while St Jeanne in the later half of the 19th century has been co-opted by the left as a symbol for the republic, it should mention also that the republican revolutionaries during the French Revolution hated Jeanne D'arc (her being a Catholic and Monarchist) so much so that they destroyed the last remaining relic of hers the flag she carried into battle had survived up until that time until the revolutionaries destroyed it like so many churches and sacred sites. Jeanne D'arc wasn't spared this hatred.

Joan of Arc's house is small, but the museum is big and very interesting. The exhibition made it possible to understand the context of Joan of Arc. The doll movie was also very interesting.
