Mémorial Charles De Gaulle is a historical interpretation center spread over 1,600 sq m (5,250 sq ft). This permanent exhibition looks at all aspects of Charles de Gaulle, the first President of the fifth French Republic, and his time. Go into the cellars to view a World War I trench with pictures and supplies that a typical soldier would have carried. Watch several free films on giant screens, understand the journey of the illustrious Charles de Gaulle on multimedia terminals in English, then view written commentaries and slideshows about the liberation of Paris. Chronological sequences devoted to Charles de Gaulle’s early life recount his early military career and his arrival in the Haute-Marne, as well as his participation in World War II, followed by the establishment of the 5th Republic. A visit to Mémorial Charles De Gaulle represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Colombey-les-deux-Eglises travel route planner to plot your vacation.
