Dudley Zoo and Castle, Dudley

#1 of 7 in Parks in Dudley
Zoo · Zoo / Aquarium
Dudley Zoo and Castle offers an extraordinary combination of an important historical site and a collection of wildlife exhibits. The grounds of the ruined 11th-century castle contain the zoo, and your ticket grants you admission to both. At the former, read interpretive displays to learn the castle's history and watch a medieval demonstration by a reenactment group. In the latter, view hundreds of animals such as lions, tigers, bears, snow leopards, sea lions, lemurs, tropical birds, amphibians, and reptiles. Opt for a close-encounter experience to touch or feed one of the zoo's residents, or join an arachnophobia workshop to overcome your fear of spiders. Buy your tickets online to avoid waiting in line at the entrance. Make Dudley Zoo and Castle a part of your Dudley vacation plans using our Dudley online trip itinerary builder.

  • Dudley Zoo, looking old and tired now, could have done a lot during lock down, only the gift shop looked new, sadly, it will be my last visit  more »
  • We went to the zoo after I bought the Feed a Big Cat Experience as a Christmas Present for my partner in 2019 but weren’t able to go sooner due to the pandemic. Fortunately, we were able to extend...  more »
  • It's a good place to spend an entire day. If lucky you can see sea lions, penguins, otters, etc being fed. Some wild animals like lemurs, peacocks are almost without fencing. Also there is a fun area with children rides. Castle is ok, bungee jumping for kids. Overall worth the 15 pound per person
  • Fantastic day out with my two children age 5 and 12. Great combination of zoo and castle. Lots to do. You feel like you can get quite up close to the animals too. There are a few areas you can walk through the animal encosure including lemurs and wallabies. Food a little on the expensive side £2.30 for a 500ml bottle of fizzy drink. You can take your own picnic though and there are plenty of places. Lots of talks available and birds of prey display. As it is spread over such a large area there is a lot of walking as with most zoos but this zoo has a lot of hills with it being built around castle grounds. Not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Not all paths are suitable for pushchairs but they are clearly labelled on the map guide. Would definitely recommend
