City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Change things up with these side-trips from Turin: Lake Orta (in Orta San Giulio), Sacra di San Michele (in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino) and Abbazia di Santa Maria di Vezzolano (in Albugnano). There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, make a trip to Piazza San Carlo, see where the action happens at Juventus Stadium, and contemplate the long history of Palazzo Reale.

To find other places to visit, where to stay, photos, and other tourist information, read our Turin online day trip planner.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In September, plan for daily highs up to 24°C, and evening lows to 17°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Thu) early enough to travel back home.
