Rome of the Alps

In the Aosta Valley bordering Switzerland and France, the medieval city of Aosta is famous for its prime skiing conditions and rich cultural history.
Bring the kids along to Teatro Romano and Porta Praetoria. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Aosta: Lillaz Waterfalls (in Cogne), Maison Bruil (in Introd) and Forte di Bard (in Bard). The adventure continues: stroll through Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso, fly down the slopes at Pila, hike along Percorso di Barefooting, and let the river carry you with a rafting and tubing tour.

Torgnon is a town and comune in the Aosta Valley region of north-western Italy. Start off your visit on the 18th (Sat): stroll through Torgnon, then contemplate the waterfront views at Lago di Cignana, then fly down the slopes at Cervino Breuil-Cervinia Ski Area, and finally discover the riches below the earth's surface at Miniere d'oro di Brusson.
