City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Castel Savoia and Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Santuario di Oropa and Castello di Verres. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Aosta (Criptoportico Forense & Collegiata dei Santi Pietro e Orso), Castello di Serralunga d'Alba (in Serralunga d'Alba) and Castello di Grinzane Cavour (in Grinzane Cavour). There's still lots to do: explore the historical opulence of Castello Reale di Sarre, admire the striking features of Ricetto di Candelo, pause for some serene contemplation at Gran Madre di Dio, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis.

For reviews, other places to visit, and more tourist information, refer to the Turin trip planner.

If you are flying in from Denmark, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In July, daily temperatures in Turin can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 21°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
