City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Visit Castello di Grinzane Cavour and Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis for their historical value. Discover out-of-the-way places like Armeria Reale and Pila. Change things up with these side-trips from Turin: Castel Savoia (in Gressoney Saint Jean), Dogliani (Azienda Agricola Ca Neuva & Marziano Abbona) and Marchesi di Barolo - Sede legale, magazzini e spedizioni (in Barolo). There's lots more to do: take an in-depth tour of Museo Pietro Micca, explore the historical opulence of Castello di Verres, examine the collection at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, and explore the world behind art at Museo Egizio.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In April, plan for daily highs up to 17°C, and evening lows to 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
