City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Visit Castello di Grinzane Cavour and Castello di Issogne for their historical value. Discover out-of-the-way places like Armeria Reale and Castello di Verres. Change things up with these side-trips from Turin: Marchesi di Barolo - Sede legale, magazzini e spedizioni (in Barolo), Dogliani (Azienda Agricola Ca Neuva & Marziano Abbona) and Castel Savoia (in Gressoney Saint Jean). Next up on the itinerary: get engrossed in the history at Museo Pietro Micca e dell'assedio di Torino del 1706, fly down the slopes at Pila, examine the collection at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, and take a stroll through Via Roma.

For maps, photos, where to stay, and more tourist information, you can read our Turin itinerary planner.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In April, daytime highs in Turin are 17°C, while nighttime lows are 9°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
