City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Museo Pietro Micca and Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi. Get a sense of the local culture at Castello di Grinzane Cavour and Sacro Monte di Orta. Venture out of the city with trips to Castel Savoia (in Gressoney Saint Jean), Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis (in Vicoforte) and Monterosa Ski (in Gressoney-la-Trinite). There's much more to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Ricetto di Candelo, explore the historical opulence of Castello della Manta, admire the masterpieces at Museo Egizio, and pause for some serene contemplation at Santuario di Oropa.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In May in Turin, expect temperatures between 64°F during the day and 51°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Sat) to allow time to travel back home.
