City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Museo del Carcere Le Nuove and Museo Nazionale del Cinema will appeal to museum buffs. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Castello di Issogne and Funivia Plateau Rosa. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Castello di Verres (in Verres), Aosta (Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso, Criptoportico Forense, &more) and Castello di Fenis (in Fenis). There's lots more to do: stroll through Torgnon, explore the historical opulence of Castello Reale di Sarre, take in the exciting artwork at Reggia di Venaria Reale, and examine the collection at Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile.
