Stresa

— 6 nights
Stresa is a town and comune of about 5,000 residents on the shores of Lake Maggiore in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Piedmont region of northern Italy, about 90km northwest of Milan. Change things up with these side-trips from Stresa: Cantina Fontechiara (in Borgomanero), Bard (The Little Wild Gallery & Forte di Bard) and Orta San Giulio (Chiesa parrocchiale di Santa Maria Assunta, San Giulio Island, &more). There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Palazzo Borromeo, take in nature's colorful creations at Botanical Gardens Of Villa Taranto, pick up a one of a kind souvenir at Epoque Antichita e Restauro, and take some stellar pictures from Alpyland Mottarone.

In June, plan for daily highs up to 80°F, and evening lows to 59°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
