A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Step off the beaten path and head to Armeria Reale and Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso. Explore Turin's surroundings by going to Cascate del Rutor (in La Thuile), Courmayeur (Saussurea Alpine Botanical Garden & Val Ferret) and River Rafting & Tubing (in La Salle). There's still lots to do: explore the activities along Lago d'Arpy, take an in-depth tour of Museo Pietro Micca, stroll around Parc Animalier d'Introd, and explore the historical opulence of Castello Reale di Sarre.

If you are flying in from Belgium, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In August, plan for daily highs up to 28°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
