City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Step off the beaten path and head to Langhe landscapes UNESCO and Centro Storico. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso (in Aosta), Cattedrale di Asti Santa Maria Assunta (in Asti) and Milan (Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Duomo di Milano, &more). There's lots more to do: stroll through Colline di Torino, explore the historical opulence of Castello di Fenis, admire the local landmark of I toretti, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Santuario della Consolata.

Milan to Turin is an approximately 1.5-hour train ride. You can also drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Milan in October, plan for a bit cooler days in Turin, with highs around 17°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sun) to allow enough time to fly back home.
