Start: Milan

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Step off the beaten path and head to Langhe landscapes UNESCO and Colline di Torino. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Centro Storico (in Alba), Milan (Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Duomo di Milano, &more) and Cattedrale di Asti Santa Maria Assunta (in Asti). There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Santuario della Consolata, pause for some serene contemplation at Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini, explore the historical opulence of Castello di Fenis, and identify plant and animal life at Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso.

Milan to Turin is an approximately 1- hour train ride. You can also drive; or take a bus. Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from Milan in October: highs in Turin hover around 17°C, while lows dip to 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
