Pinerolo is a town and comune in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont, northwestern Italy, 50km southwest of Turin on the river Chisone. Get a sense of the local culture at Sacra di San Michele and Parrocchia S. Maurizio. Your inner history buff will appreciate Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi and Castello di Grinzane Cavour. Change things up with these side-trips from Pinerolo: Castello di Racconigi (in Racconigi), Azienda Agricola Ca Neuva (in Dogliani) and Barolo (Marchesi di Barolo - Sede legale, magazzini e spedizioni, WiMu - Museo del Vino a Barolo, &more). There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis, take in the spiritual surroundings of Chiesa Santa Croce, do a tasting at Fontanafredda, and get to know the fascinating history of Centro Storico di Pinerolo.
