Turin

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Step off the beaten path and head to Via Roma and Salumificio Maison Bertolin. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Il Negozietto and Casa del Miele. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Turin: Castello di Issogne (in Issogne), River Rafting & Tubing (in La Salle) and Castello Reale di Sarre (in Sarre). There's much more to do: explore the historical opulence of Castello di Verres, do a tasting at Azienda Agricola Fratelli Aimasso, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis, and get some fabulous bargains at Mondovicino Outlet Village.

For photos, more things to do, where to stay, and other tourist information, read Turin holiday planner.

If you are flying in from Sweden, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 30°C in July, and nighttime lows around 21°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Fri) to allow time to travel back home.
