City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Castello di Grinzane Cavour and Palazzo Reale will appeal to history buffs. Visiting Lake Orta and River Rafting & Tubing will get you outdoors. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Turin: Reggia di Venaria Reale (in Venaria Reale), Azienda Agricola Negro Angelo & Figli (in Monteu Roero) and Orta San Giulio (Piazza Motta & Spiaggia Miami). There's still lots to do: learn about winemaking at Cantina Fontechiara, get engrossed in the history at Museo Egizio, make a trip to Piazza San Carlo, and catch a live event at Juventus Stadium.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In September, plan for daily highs up to 69°F, and evening lows to 58°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Mon) to allow time to travel back home.
