City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Head to Serravalle Designer Outlet and The Little Wild Galleryfor some retail therapy. Attractions like Museo Egizio and Palazzo Reale make great kid-friendly stops. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Naturalia (in Vercelli), Teatro Romano (in Aosta) and Sacra di San Michele (in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino). There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, stroll around Parco del Valentino, contemplate the long history of Reggia di Venaria Reale, and step into the grandiose world of Castello di Issogne.

For where to stay, traveler tips, reviews, and more tourist information, you can read our Turin online driving holiday planner.

If you are flying in from Sweden, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 17°C in October, and nighttime lows around 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
