City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Get a sense of the local culture at Castello di Issogne and Criptoportico Forense. Get some historical perspective at Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis and Castello Reale di Sarre. Change things up with these side-trips from Turin: Forte di Bard (in Bard), Castello e Parco di Masino (in Caravino) and Castello di Verres (in Verres). There's still lots to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di Maria Ausiliatrice, relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour, visit Quadrilatero Romano, and take an in-depth tour of Museo del Carcere Le Nuove.

For traveler tips, other places to visit, more things to do, and other tourist information, use the Turin trip site.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In September, daily temperatures in Turin can reach 24°C, while at night they dip to 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 26th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
