A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Museo Egizio and Civic Museum of Ancient Art (Palazzo Madama). Shop till you drop at Serravalle Designer Outlet and Mercato Centrale Torino. Venture out of the city with trips to Lake Orta (in Orta San Giulio), Forte di Bard (in Bard) and Cervino Breuil-Cervinia Ski Area (in Breuil-Cervinia). The adventure continues: see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, take some stellar pictures from Basilica of Superga, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone, and don't miss a visit to Piazza San Carlo.
