City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Take a break from the city and head to River Rafting & Tubing and Lake Orta. You'll explore and learn at Museo Egizio and Museo Nazionale del Cinema. Venture out of the city with trips to Castello di Fenis (in Fenis), Cantina Fontechiara (in Borgomanero) and Reggia di Venaria Reale (in Venaria Reale). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile, take some stellar pictures from Basilica of Superga, don't miss a visit to Piazza San Carlo, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone.

To find reviews, other places to visit, maps, and other tourist information, go to the Turin day trip planner.

If you are flying in from Poland, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In August, daytime highs in Turin are 28°C, while nighttime lows are 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
