City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Appreciate the collections at Museo del Carcere Le Nuove and Museo Nazionale del Cinema. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Castello di Issogne and Castello di Verres. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Castello della Manta (in Manta), Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis (in Vicoforte) and Pila (in Gressan). And it doesn't end there: explore the historical opulence of Castello e Parco di Masino, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di Maria Ausiliatrice, make a trip to Piazza Castello, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Via Lattea.

To see other places to visit, ratings, maps, and tourist information, go to the Turin online day trip planner.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 59°F in April, and nighttime lows around 47°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Thu) early enough to travel back home.
