City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Get a sense of the local culture at Museo Egizio and Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile. Your inner history buff will appreciate Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi and Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone. Explore Turin's surroundings by going to Sacra di San Michele (in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino), Teatro Romano (in Aosta) and Reggia di Venaria Reale (in Venaria Reale). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, make a trip to Piazza San Carlo, admire the striking features of Palazzo Reale, and see where the action happens at Juventus Stadium.

To find other places to visit, more things to do, traveler tips, and other tourist information, you can read our Turin day trip site.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In August, plan for daily highs up to 28°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
