Capital of Europe

The allure of the multi-cultural capital, Brussels, stems from its mix of political intrigue, artistic influence, historical significance, and a thriving social scene.
Grand Place and Historic Centre of Brugge will appeal to history buffs. Do some cultural sightseeing at Atomium and Les Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert. Change things up with these side-trips from Brussels: Bruges (The Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaarde, Minnewater Lake, &more). There's lots more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral (Cathedrale St-Michel et Ste-Gudule), appreciate the history behind Manneken Pis, examine the collection at Musical Instruments Museum (MIM), and contemplate the long history of Maison d'Erasme.
