Capital of Europe

The allure of the multi-cultural capital, Brussels, stems from its mix of political intrigue, artistic influence, historical significance, and a thriving social scene.
Grand Place and Maison d'Erasme will appeal to history buffs. Do some cultural sightseeing at Atomium and Les Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert. Change things up with these side-trips from Brussels: Bruges (The Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaarde, Minnewater Lake, &more). The adventure continues: take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral (Cathedrale St-Michel et Ste-Gudule), see the interesting displays at Musical Instruments Museum (MIM), and pause for some photo ops at Manneken Pis.

To see maps, more things to do, reviews, and other tourist information, refer to the Brussels online travel route planner.

If you are flying in from Ireland, the closest major aiports are Brussels Airport, Antwerp International Airport (Deurne), Brussels South Charleroi Airport and Liège Airport. In November in Brussels, expect temperatures between 9°C during the day and 3°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Mon) to allow time to travel back home.
