City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Castello di Issogne and Castello e Parco di Masino will appeal to history buffs. Do some cultural sightseeing at Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis and Castello di Verres. Venture out of the city with trips to Centro storico (in Cuneo), Castello Reale di Sarre (in Sarre) and Castello della Manta (in Manta). Next up on the itinerary: pause for some serene contemplation at Collegiata dei Santi Pietro e Orso, explore the ancient world of Criptoportico Forense, don't miss a visit to Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini, and take some stellar pictures from Basilica of Superga.

For reviews, where to stay, maps, and other tourist information, go to the Turin day trip planning site.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. April in Turin sees daily highs of 59°F and lows of 47°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
