A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Visit Basilica di Superga and Palazzo Reale for their historical value. Reggia di Venaria Reale and Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi will appeal to museum buffs. Change things up with these side-trips from Turin: Serravalle Designer Outlet (in Serravalle Scrivia) and Sacra di San Michele (in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino). There's lots more to do: take an in-depth tour of Egyptian Museum of Turin, see the interesting displays at Civic Museum of Ancient Art (Palazzo Madama), and contemplate the long history of Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone.

If you are flying in from Israel, the closest major airports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In October, plan for daily highs up to 17°C, and evening lows to 12°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 8th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
