City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Get a sense of the local culture at Castello di Issogne and Castello Reale di Sarre. Step off the beaten path and head to Castello e Parco di Masino and Castello di Verres. Change things up with these side-trips from Turin: Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis (in Vicoforte), Castello della Manta (in Manta) and Aosta (Criptoportico Forense & Collegiata dei Santi Pietro e Orso). Next up on the itinerary: don't miss a visit to Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini, steep yourself in history at Basilica of Superga, see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, and take an in-depth tour of Museo Egizio.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 76°F in August, and nighttime lows around 64°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
