City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Popular historic sites such as Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi and Reggia di Venaria Reale are in your itinerary. Do some cultural sightseeing at Museo Egizio and Museo Nazionale del Cinema. Venture out of the city with trips to Castello di Grinzane Cavour (in Grinzane Cavour), Sacra di San Michele (in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino) and Forte di Bard (in Bard). There's lots more to do: examine the collection at Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile, admire the striking features of Palazzo Reale, contemplate the long history of Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone, and get great views at Basilica of Superga.

For where to stay, traveler tips, maps, and more tourist information, you can read our Turin day trip planning site.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 58°F in October, and nighttime lows around 51°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
