A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Castello di Grinzane Cavour and Ricetto di Candelo. Castello e Parco di Masino and Castello di Issogne will appeal to history buffs. Venture out of the city with trips to Santuario di Oropa (in Oropa), Castello di Racconigi (in Racconigi) and Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis (in Vicoforte). The adventure continues: get engrossed in the history at Armeria Reale, see the interesting displays at Civic Museum of Ancient Art (Palazzo Madama), contemplate the long history of Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, and admire the masterpieces at MAO - Museo d'Arte Orientale.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In April, plan for daily highs up to 17°C, and evening lows to 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
