Turin

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Tue): take in the spiritual surroundings of Chiesa di San Sebastiano, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa Parrocchiale San Vito, see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile, then examine the collection at Spazio La Stampa, and finally steep yourself in history at Circolo della Stampa – Sporting / Palazzo Ceriana Mayneri. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: step into the grandiose world of Castello del Valentino, then ponder the design of Fontana dei 12 Mesi, and then explore the historical opulence of La Castella.

To find other places to visit, where to stay, reviews, and tourist information, read our Turin trip planner.

Milan to Turin is an approximately 1.5-hour train ride. You can also drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Milan in October, plan for little chillier days and about the same nights in Turin: temperatures range from 17°C by day to 12°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Wed) so you can drive to Barolo.
