Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Family-friendly places like Canal Grande and Doge's Palace will thrill your kids. Get out of town with these interesting Venice side-trips: Padua (Basilica di Sant’Antonio & Scrovegni Chapel). There's much more to do: get to know the fascinating history of St. Mark's Square, contemplate the long history of St Mark's Campanile, admire the masterpieces at Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and head off the coast to Isola di Burano.

Adana, Turkey to Venice is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. You can also drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Adana to Venice. Traveling from Adana in November, expect Venice to be little chillier, temps between 15°C and 7°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Wed) early enough to take a train to Milan.

In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Family-friendly places like Duomo di Milano and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II will thrill your kids. Venture out of the city with trips to Turati Centro Nautico Lario (in Argegno), Leolandia (in Capriate San Gervasio) and Villa del Balbianello (in Tremezzina). Spend the 25th (Sun) on two wheels at Anything But Work. Next up on the itinerary: examine the collection at Castello Sforzesco, don't miss a visit to Piazza del Duomo, contemplate the long history of La Citta Alta, and pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio.

Florence

Considered a cultural, artistic, and architectural jewel of Italy, Florence is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
Kids will enjoy Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Campanile di Giotto. Get out of town with these interesting Florence side-trips: Torre di Pisa (in Pisa), Siena (Piazza del Campo & Siena Cathedral) and Guardastelle Vineyard (in San Gimignano). Dedicate the 1st (Sat) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Milan in November: highs in Florence hover around 19°C, while lows dip to 9°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 1st (Sat) so you can catch the train to Rome.

Positano

Often referred to as the gem of the Amalfi Coast, Positano remains one of southern Italy's most sought-after vacation locales, thanks to its hillside location and picturesque, pastel buildings.
Family-friendly places like Fornillo and Bagni d'Arienzo will thrill your kids. Get out of town with these interesting Positano side-trips: Sorrento (Food Tours, Piazza Tasso, & more).
