In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Fri): admire the landmark architecture of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Duomo di Milano, then catch a live performance at La Casa Maledetta, and finally admire the masterpieces at Pinacoteca Ambrosiana. On the 7th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesetta della Madonna delle Grazie, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Sentee di Sort, and then steep yourself in history at Castello Sforzesco.
