A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Visit Basilica of Superga and Chiesa della Madonna della Neve for their historical value. Do your shopping at Reggia di Venaria Reale and Galleria Sabauda. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Calzature Kur & Kamina (in Savigliano), Castello della Manta (in Manta) and Castello di Grinzane Cavour (in Grinzane Cavour). There's lots more to do: test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, admire nature's wide array of creatures at Zoom Torino, and walk around Parco Naturale del Monte San Giorgio.

To see photos, reviews, other places to visit, and tourist information, use the Turin day trip planning site.

If you are flying in from Switzerland, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In April, daily temperatures in Turin can reach 17°C, while at night they dip to 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Sun) to allow time to travel back home.
