City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Castello di Issogne and Castello di Serralunga d'Alba. Your inner history buff will appreciate Castello di Verres and Ricetto di Candelo. Explore Turin's surroundings by going to Castello della Manta (in Manta) and Castello di Grinzane Cavour (in Grinzane Cavour). There's still lots to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di Maria Ausiliatrice, see the interesting displays at Juventus Museum, and take an in-depth tour of Museo Pietro Micca e dell'assedio di Torino del 1706.

To find ratings, more things to do, and tourist information, go to the Turin driving holiday planner.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In July, daily temperatures in Turin can reach 78°F, while at night they dip to 65°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
