City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Basilica of Superga and Palazzo Reale will appeal to history buffs. Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile and Museo Egizio are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Castello di Grinzane Cavour (in Grinzane Cavour), Forte di Bard (in Bard) and Reggia di Venaria Reale (in Venaria Reale). Next up on the itinerary: see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale del Cinema and learn about winemaking at Ferraris Agricola.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 69°F in September, and nighttime lows around 58°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
