City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Head to Purpleryta and Via Romafor some retail therapy. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Castello e Parco di Masino and Castello di Serralunga d'Alba. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Castello di Issogne (in Issogne), Castello di Verres (in Verres) and Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso (in Aosta). There's still lots to do: explore the historical opulence of Castello della Manta, pause for some serene contemplation at Abbazia di Santa Maria di Staffarda, see the interesting displays at Museo del Carcere Le Nuove, and take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Colline di Torino.

For where to stay, ratings, and tourist information, use the Turin day trip website.

If you are flying in from Sweden, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In May, daily temperatures in Turin can reach 20°C, while at night they dip to 12°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 11th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
