City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile and Museo Nazionale del Cinema. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Reggia di Venaria Reale and Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone. Change things up with these side-trips from Turin: Sacra di San Michele (in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino) and Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi (in Stupinigi). Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the long history of Basilica of Superga, get engrossed in the history at Museo Egizio, don't miss a visit to Piazza San Carlo, and take in nature's colorful creations at Parco del Valentino.

For photos, more things to do, other places to visit, and more tourist information, you can read our Turin trip planner.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In May, daytime highs in Turin are 64°F, while nighttime lows are 51°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 9th (Tue) so you can travel back home.
