City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Reggia di Venaria Reale and Museo Nazionale del Cinema are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit Sacra di San Michele and Palazzo Reale for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi (in Stupinigi) and Forte di Bard (in Bard). And it doesn't end there: admire the masterpieces at Museo Egizio, steep yourself in history at Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone, don't miss a visit to Piazza San Carlo, and see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile.

If you are flying in from Switzerland, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In August in Turin, expect temperatures between 28°C during the day and 20°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
