A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.

Get a sense of the local culture at Il Bucintoro dei Savoia and Castello della Manta. Museum-lovers will get to explore Fondazione Accorsi Ometto - Museo di Arti Decorative and MAO - Museo d'Arte Orientale. Venture out of the city with trips to Santuario di Oropa (in Oropa) and Castello e Parco di Masino (in Caravino). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Museo del Carcere Le Nuove, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di Maria Ausiliatrice, and make a trip to Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini.
