A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Sacra di San Michele (in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino), Reggia di Venaria Reale (in Venaria Reale) and Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi (in Stupinigi). There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilica of Superga, make a trip to Piazza San Carlo, examine the collection at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, and steep yourself in history at Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone.

If you are flying in from India, the closest major airports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 24°C in September, and nighttime lows around 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
