Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.

On the 21st (Sat), pause for some serene contemplation at Se Catedral de Viseu, pause for some serene contemplation at Igreja da Misericordia de Viseu, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of the Third of San Francisco, and finally make a trip to Painel de Azulejos. On your second day here, explore the world behind art at Museu Grao Vasco, then browse the different shops at Palacio do Gelo, and then explore the landscape on two wheels at Ecopista do Dao.
