Turin

— 22 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Get outdoors at Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso and Cave Bossea. Get a sense of the local culture at Villa della Regina and Gran Madre di Dio. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis (in Vicoforte), Castello Sarriod de La Tour (in St. Pierre) and Castello Reale di Sarre (in Sarre). Spend the 22nd (Mon) exploring nature at Parco Regionale del Mont Avic. And it doesn't end there: stop by Quadrilatero Romano, cruise along Colline di Torino, explore the historical opulence of Castello di Verres, and pause for some serene contemplation at Cattedrale di Sant'Evasio (Duomo di Casale Monferrato).

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 64°F in May, and nighttime lows around 51°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 31st (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
