Get some historical perspective at Colosseum and Pantheon. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore and Trastevere. Start off your visit on the 19th (Tue): explore the world behind art at Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Duomo di Milano, and then contemplate the long history of Castello Sforzesco.
