Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Appreciate the collections at Vatican Museums and Galleria Borghese. Palatine Hill and Piazza Navona are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with a short trip to Villa Adriana in Tivoli (about 36 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: admire the striking features of Pantheon, steep yourself in history at St. Peter's Basilica, explore the different monuments and memorials at Catacombe di San Callisto, and explore the ancient world of Colosseum.

Lima, Peru to Rome is an approximately 19.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. You'll lose 6 hours traveling from Lima to Rome due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Lima in July, expect nights in Rome to be a bit warmer, around 24°C, while days are warmer, around 37°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Wed) early enough to travel to Ravello.

Often referred to as the gem of the Amalfi Coast, Positano remains one of southern Italy's most sought-after vacation locales, thanks to its hillside location and picturesque, pastel buildings.
Kick off your visit on the 18th (Thu): look for gifts at Nana' Positano, kick back and relax at Fornillo, and then stroll through Spiaggia Grande. A lovely town easily accessible from almost anywhere in the country, Sorrento overlooks the Bay of Naples and sits right on the Amalfi Drive.
On the 20th (Sat), cast your line with a fishing tour. On the 21st (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: don't miss a visit to Piazza Tasso, admire the masterpieces at Correale di Terranova Museum, explore the world behind art at Museobottega della Tarsialignea, get a taste of the local shopping with Marcello Aversa Studio d'Arte, then shop like a local with SyArt, and finally view the masterpieces at Gallery Raffaele Celentano.
